You Guys Crack Me Up

You Guys Crack Me Up

So I’m trying to decide if I overdid it with my BIG NEWS blog arrival. Clearly, I’ve set expectations very high.

To me, half the Big News was that I even started a blog. But I realize that’s probably not that big a deal to anybody else-especially not all the people who always said, “Michelle, you should totally start a blog.”

It kind of reminds me of when my sister got pregnant and I said tomy husband, “Isn’t that crazy?!?!” And he said, “No.”

We had multiple versions of that conversation over those 9 months and I’d always just stare at him, until I realized that he didn’t have all the childhood memories of my sister. To him it didn’t feel like a kid having a kid. When he met her, she was already married, so it seemed perfectly normal to him that she was having a baby.

So I guess it seems normal to you all that I’m starting a blog. But to me it feels CRAZY!!! Like someone just let me loose on the internet to blurt out all my secrets.

But despite all that, there have been some recent conversations and emails, that make me feel like I should warn you that whatever BIG NEWS is coming down the line, it is not CRAZY NEWS.

I am not:

*Writing a book

*Having a baby

*Shaving my head

*Shutting down my agency

*Moving to California

*Moving to the Moon

*Running for President

*Announcing that I have a role in The Hunger Games (but how awesome would that have been????)

I’m going to make a crazy, wild suggestion here. More of a comment really, although it’s actually in the post itself, not the comments. That’s just the kind of blog this is. Now I forgot the comment.

Wait, I got it. Check out the title of the blog. This blog is for my agency. I don’t know why I assumed it would be obvious, but the news has to do with my clients. And their books. And other exciting things that I have going on at the agency.

Now I will admit, there is something in particular, that I am so super pumped about (AT THE AGENCY) that I can barely keep from talking about it, but still, it’s book news. I’m sorry if that’s disappointing.

I promise I’ll do my best to entertain you in between. The Agency is still just me. And let’s face it, at the end of the day, all I really want is for you to love me so you’ll buy my clients’ books. And comment on my new blog. And give me compliments.

Is that too much to ask?

Welcome to the blogging world! The crazy thing is that I assumed you were already blogging, LOL. You are loved and we will buy your clients books … because you do what we all want … you’re just you!

Best of luck with your coming news!

The real reason I chose you to be my agent is because you’re so pretty.

Okay, that’s a lie. I didn’t know what you looked like until later. (By the way, you sound much taller on the phone.) You were still just a stack of books to me when I signed with you. But being a good agent isn’t about the pretty face, is it? That part’s just gravy.

(Is that enough compliments for one comment, or should I rave about your exquisite taste in clients…er, shoes? *grin*)

I love the comment about your sister. “Isn’t that CRAZY?” My brother, who is an adult, will always be 3 in my mind. Every freaking time I see him I have to do this whole mind-scramble thing.

I guess that makes me the crazy one. 🙂

I notice you did not include one of my guesses in your post. So I’m still assuming it’s that one. 🙂 I, for one, am VERY excited about your blog. Especially since it is agency news. I like agency news because I’m a part of that agency (I’m very selfish like that).

And compliments are easy because you’re so awesome.

Totally get where you are coming from with the little sister example. I’m six years older than my sister, and at each point in her life I had the same reaction.

    “She’s graduating high school?!”

    “She’s graduating college?!”

    “She owns a house?!”

    “She’s getting married?!”

She’s 28 now, so I suppose I should stop being amazed.

Yeah, you’d be AWESOME as Katniss! 😀 I can *almost* picture you with that sheath of arrows! LOL
And I can’t wait to hear the news!!! REALLY!!
I’m imagining it has something to do with you dying your hair??? 😉

Book news is the best news! And compliment…hmm, whenever I read your twitter/blog posts I crack up and my mom asks me if I’m ‘quite alright, dear?’
I’m still excited for your news! Signing any new clients? 😉 Bwahaha, just kidding!

Book news is still exciting! Now I’m wondering what the heck the book news is. If you knew me at all, you’d know this type of thing is liable to keep me up at night. I hope you’re happy with yourself, provoking insomnia in total strangers. It’s Tawna, isn’t it? I bet it’s Tawna. She’s been doing the same darned thing. Bah.

Oh, right…compliment. Um…Having read your clients books/blogs, I can say with complete assurance that you have wonderful taste in books. Also, I think you’d make a better Prim than Katniss. Because, y’know, you’re so youthful. All right, I’ll stop.

Congratulations on your new blog. If you were looking to reach out to my demographic, I would enjoy seeing video clips of large dogs pushing around strollers with smaller dogs inside the stroller. I find that infinitely amusing. It’s a very small and specific demographic.

I think you mean a very *tall* and specific demographic. One which I’m fairly certain is out of my reach.

Congrats and welcome to the blogging world. I’ll admit for a while with the mucho and all I though it was pregnancy news. I watch too much E entertainment. Sorry.

Ha. It’s good to know my demographic. Mucho E Entertainment TV. Got it. Will adjust my life accordingly.
