QUERY FUN FACTS

I have found numerous clients in the slush, including Kiersten White (NYT bestseller), Mark Di Vincenzo (NYT bestseller), Kasie West, Tawna Fenske, and Meghan Rogers. It happened to them; it can happen to you. Don’t give up.

QUERY NOT SO FUN FACTS

Please note: WLA has a NO RESPONSE MEANS NO policy.

I’m really sorry about that. I wish I didn’t. I wish I had a more advanced set-up where I could auto-respond and tell you I received your query. But I don’t.

However, if you follow the guidelines (i.e. put Query: title), we will see your query. We will read your query. And we will respond to your query (if we like it).

Responses to queries tend to come VERY QUICKLY, anywhere from 5 minutes to 48 hours. If you have not heard anything within 2 weeks, you should assume we think your query is well written and that your book sounds interesting but that unfortunately, it is just not the right fit.

I tend to respond to partials VERY SLOWLY. If you have not heard from me on your partial in 6-8 weeks, you should feel free to send me a polite follow-up email. And every 4 weeks after that until you wear me down. I wouldn’t say this if I didn’t mean it.

Thank you, as always, for your patience! And best of luck to you all.
