The Kiss of Death

The Kiss of Death

I just groaned.

No really. I did. Even though I work by myself and no one is around to hear it. Wait. If you groan out loud but no one hears it, did you really make a noise???

But I digress.

Anyway, I think this is half the reason I started a blog. So I could groan and then be able to tell you why. But that’s what twitter was for. So I could groan and then tell you why I was groaning.

I mean, also to promote my authors’ books and stuff.

But I remember a time when I used to tell all my authors oh, you have to blog and do that twitter thing but ugh, I don’t even know what that is and I’ll never do those things. Too time consuming etc. But you have to do them.

Then of course I found Twitter. And fell in love. And the rest was history there.

But then I still would say Oh yeah yeah yeah, but I’ll never blog. That’s why I love twitter. It’s short and sweet (even though I tell really long stories in real life, I don’t know why I thought short and sweet was perfect for me (oh yeah, I just did that tweet bomb thing) but I did, and somehow I thought a blog would be terrible. Maybe because I thought I’d have to edit more. But clearly I don’t.).

But the one thing I really felt for sure was that I’d never join Pinterest. I mean, I have felt this for sure for as long as Pinterest has existed. I just don’t get it. I mean fine, I know I said that about Twitter and maybe blogging too, but still, I mean I really don’t get Pinterest.

But then I just saw Kim Sabatini’s Pinterest page for her new book TOUCHING THE SURFACE which is coming out next week (holy crap next week!!!) and I have to say, it’s pretty awesome!! I mean, I LOVE IT!!

Now, to be fair, I have read this book several times and think it’s pretty incredible, but these images are amazing because they are so spot on with what I also imagined as I read (except for maybe one (I mean come on, we aren’t sharing one brain or something. That would have been too freaky!). But wow, everything else was unbelievable.

And I sent a tweet about it.

And now I’m really nervous that within a month I’m going to have a Pinterest page. Because you know, if I tweet it, it must be a sign of what’s to come.

You heard it here first, I will NOT be joining Pinterest*

Because you know, if I blog it, it must be a sign of what’s to come.

*I reserve the right to join Pinterest in the future.

HA! you crack me up. I’ve wondered the same thing about making a noise but if no one’s around to hear it… I have a pinterest page for all my decorating ideas, I never even THOUGHT to use it for my book (or my book in progress) But that would make total sense, instead of having saved book marks, pictures of characters and story inspirations and bits and pieces scattered all over my computer. Well, now, there’s an afternoon time suck just waiting to happen.
