My Garbage Man Is Not Hot

My Garbage Man Is Not Hot

So I had to steal (perhaps I shouldn’t use the word “steal” especially today on the great Wiki Blackout day (or I suppose I could look up how to write proper footnotes and all, but I’d have to Wiki that and that just brings us back to the original problem))

Let’s just say I borrowed the title of this post from an Amazon review by Kari J. Porter of Tawna Fenske’s new romantic caper GETTING DUMPED.

Now if you have been following my blog closely (and I don’t even want to know if you haven’t), you know that GETTING DUMPED was published by Coliloquy, a new digital publisher of active fiction, that launched yesterday with four titles.

Wait, I just realized I forgot to talk about the title of this post! That line made a lot more sense when I had about 4 more paragraphs in there that I cut out. But rather than un-cut them back in, I will just move on.

So I was reading the review, which was great (and 5 well-deserved stars I might add), and all about how JJ works at the garbage dump and finds mystery and mayhem and hot men galore, and then I got to the end and Kari wrote, “In case you were wondering, my garbage man is not hot.”

Which is so brilliant for so many reasons. First, because it’s freaking hilarious.

But even more than that, it’s why we read books like GETTING DUMPED in the first place. And MAKING WAVES (already out and available in all formats including print). And BELIEVE IT OR NOT (Coming this March in all formats, print too).

You get it? Because our garbage men are not hot. We need to escape from the not-hot men in real life for a little while and live the fantasy. Books let us escape.

And Coliloquy has served up some amazing technology that enhances the experience without fundamentally changing it. And that’s really why I’m so excited to be a part of this venture. And you can be too. You can choose to be. Get t? Choices??? That’s what Coliloquy is all about.

Ok, whatever. Just go read GETTING DUMPED.

But the cabana boy is hot, right???

PS-I think Tawna might be doing a Kindle giveaway on her blog so you should definitely go check it out! After you comment on mine of course.

You realize that today you and Tawna are pimping each other’s blogs? It’s kind of funny in that “How to keep an idiot busy, Turn Over” Kind of way. 😉

Basically I’m posting simply because I want the Kindle. Mine is old and dying! But I also want to add that I loved this book. I devoured it! I started it just before eight last night and ignored things like a crying bladder and a mouth so dry when I opened it dust flew out so I could finish this book.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure my garbage man is a woman…

    Let’s see …

    1. Tawna sent me. I want a Kindle and Getting Dumped, but not a pony please because horses scare me. How about a kitty? I’d like a kitty.

    2. Your blog is worth reading all on its own! Wow! 🙂 I think I’ll have to come back when I’m not busy following Tawna’s instructions on how to win a Kindle and her book.

    3. I love Tawna’s work. I just reread Making Waves and caught tons of extra stuff I’d missed. Excellent. I’m so glad you have a part in helping her get published. She’s worth it.

That’s it for now. Oh, and my cabana boy is hot. All cabana boys are hot, mostly because they are imaginary, like mine! 🙂

I did have a hot meat counter clerk (he had the best spicy italian sausage. Seriously) at a local grocery store in Redmond, Oregon, until the super Wal-Mart moved in and put them out of business. But I digress. I NEED to win the Kindle because I can’t read it on the iPad yet. Help an iPad-ington out, please?

Getting dumped sounds hilarious! Though this whole wikipedia-not-working thing is such a disaster. Where am I supposed to get my (not really) facts?

Tawna sent me here, but I can’t believe ya’ll know what your garbage men look like. mine come at 5am – no way am I getting up that early. 😛

Love the idea of choose your own adventure books – loved them as a kid, and a romance centered one sounds fun!

Oh yeah, and I am desperately, urgently desiring a Kindle. 😉

I jumped on over from Tawna’s blog and would LOVE a Kindle. Reading is a passion but as a mother of two space in my purse has somehow been over run with crayons, extra pairs of underwear “just in case”, hot wheels, and snacks. Books with hundreds of pages have been edged out. I desperatedly, urgently need a Kindle to have easy access to my 15 minute escapes for when the boys are happily playing on the playground.

Thanks for nod! As you can tell GETTING DUMPED may be my new obsession. I also liked how my choice turned out. I once read “Lost in Austen: Create Your Own Jane Austen Adventure” and ended up with Robert Martin because I put out for Darcy to early.

    And I’m Team Collin.

Tawna sent me to explain to you why I need a urgently need a Kindle…
    1. I want to read Getting Dumped and all of Tawna’s coming books! ( Just finished Making Waves and loved it!)
2.I could read both of your blogs on it.
    3. I just started a college program for Drug and Alcohol Rehab Counselor and I could download my text books to a Kindle.
    4. I’m unemployed and can’t afford to buy one.
    5. I’m getting old and carrying all those heavy books around is making me look like Quasimoto!
Oh and by the way… Tuition money for my son who is a Freshmen or I would be so much better than a pony!

Hmm… I once saw a hot garbage man but, alas, my garbage man is not hot either nor is my UPS man. I know some hot UPS men. Don’t tell my UPS man, please.

I don’t want a garbage man. I’ll stick with my crazy recycling fanatic husband who bought me a Sony reader last year for Christmas instead of a Kindle, which is like having Beta instead of VHS back in the eighties, which we did, and it was really uncool. I keep seeing all these great books I really want to read but they’re all on Kindle. So pick me, pick me! I really want an agent too, but that’s another story.

If it’s any comfort, I was a happy betamax SOny eReader too, until it died. And then since I had these books coming out with Coliloquy, it was sort of a no-brainer to replace it with a kindle. And my husband is a crazy recycling fanatic as well. But we still have garbage, don’t you??? Still, I sense a kindred spirit. 🙂

As a founding Wolf Pack Fan Club member, let me just say how THRILLED I am that you’re finally blogging! I’d be here laughing my butt off at your Shibumis even if Tawna hadn’t mandated that I post a comment telling you how gladly I’d shave my head for a Kindle. (By the way, I really want a Kindle)

Oh, and my garbage man is insanely hot. I live in Cornhole, where we all (w’all?) throw our refuse in the back of a pickup truck and haul it to the dump Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Gunny hauls my trash and The Gunny is a Russell Crowe look-alike with Marine Corps tattoos and a southern drawl.

Great blog, I want a Kindle, my husband’s a hunk of beefcake… Shibumi!

Tawna sent me over here to say hi to tell you why I need to win her Getting Dumped contest. See, I decided I was going to be all fancy and bought a Kindle Fire…so I’m stuck being a fan of Tawna but can’t read Getting Dumped because the Coliloquy books aren’t compatible with the Fire yet – so I need this!

The lovely Tawna sent me over here for a chance to win a Kindle so that I can read the rest of her hilarious sounding book. As I have held off getting any sort of an e-reader so far (maybe I’m just too attached to the sensation of having a real, new book in my hands) this may be the only way that I get to read it.

Thanks so much for the opportunity!

So here I am. I would love to read the four new books….Well I read Tawna’s. but a new kindle will be great. To read other great books that are coming out!!!!

Tawna sent me over to tell you that I am down in the dumps dealing with an injury and how a Kindle loaded with four stories from Coliloquy including Tawna’s latest Getting Dumped will help speed my healing (because laughter is the best medicine). So please enter me to WIN!
