Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe…

Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe…

How do you choose between your children?

Well, according to my husband, you let them compete for your love in ever increasingly more difficult challenges (age appropriate of course (of course)) over the years.

I’ve pretty much gotten him to stop making that joke now that our kids are old enough to understand him. Pretty much.

In my case, I’d have to say it all came down to a hi-tech version of eenie, meenie, miney, moe. Link? Or picture? Which was easier? Or does that make it low-tech? I’m not really sure. But what I’m really trying to say, is that for now, it’s far easier for me to add a link than a picture, so I’ll start with that.

So Big News of the day is that Tawna Fenske’s debut novel MAKING WAVES has been nominated for Best Contemporary Romance by RT Book Reviews 2011 Reviewers’ Choice Awards. Congratulations, Tawna!!

I’m not sure if you read Tawna’s blog or not (if you don’t, why on earth not?? it is so freaking funny), but if you do, perhaps you have an inkling of how hard Tawna has worked to get to this point. But even then, it’s probably only an inkling, because in typical Tawna fashion, she summed up years of agonizing setbacks into one or two funny sentences. But for anyone who has gone through some agonizing setbacks of her own, you know–and I mean know–what recognition like this means.

So I am so incredibly proud of Tawna–for everything she’s done, for everything she has ahead, and just for being so awesome.

And hello?? If you haven’t bought MAKING WAVES, why the hell not?!?!

Ok, I’m done.

PS-did you see that?? I figured out how to make links, just like a real blogger!!! Do I have to start saying squee now too? Because I’m not sure I can do that.

Do not say “Squee.” Ever ever ever. (Or “woot” or “amazeaballs” or whatever that thing is.)

    Love the new blog!

Congrats to you both! Awesome news!

Michelle, pretty soon the blogs will reach out and slap us silly if we haven’t read your author’s book yet. Or told our friends. Like, really, really hounded them/stalked them until they read all of your author’s books.

I’ll have to remember to wear an umpire’s mask when reading your blog from now on. Just in case…

Good linking up you’ve done here! 😉

I, too, am thrilled for Tawna – lots of hurdles and yet so graceful about it all.

I’m crossing my fingers she gets the…statue? plaque? fat envelope? cabana boy? Or whatever the winner gets.

You absolutely must start saying squee. But only on the Internet. It’s a secret blogger rule. Squee online. Smile in real life.

Yes, please no squee-ing. I don’t think that would be very Michele-like! Now, saying something like “Shiny”… that may be more appropriate. 😉

Haven’t checked out Tawna’s book or blog, will have to go do that. I don’t usually read romance novels… but then, I don’t read YA paranormal, and I’ve read both of Kiersten White’s books… because she’s your client! 🙂

Agreed!! EVERYBODY should read MAKING WAVES!! 😀
And hey! I want to follow you by email! I can’t wait until you get that feature on your blog!
(I totally squeed when I figured out how to put the feedburner thingy on my own blog, lol!)

Great job with the links! Well done, you!! I knew you could do it! (end of the mommy-isms)

I do read Tawna’s blog everyday. It’s one of the first I go to and it’s guaranteed to make me smile. Her sense of humour has me saying “omg, did she just say that?” all the time. I’d love to be her bff, hehe. Congratulations to Tawna, and good luck! *squee!*

The reason I’m a dog mom and not a kid mom is because I will look right at a dog and say, “You’re my favorite. The other one is a charity thing.” (Making Waves kick ass!)

I admit, I gave into peer pressure and started squeeing online for a while. I’ve since stopped, but the shame still haunts me to this day.

    Also, huge congrats to Tawna!!

Be vigilant in the presence of the squee. My attention once faltered, and the squee swooped down and had me in its talons before I knew it. Eventually I wrestled out of its grasp, but I can tell you it wasn’t pretty. There are scars.

Aww, thanks for the kind words, both from Michelle and from commenters. I’m still swooning over the nomination (though I haven’t resorted to squeeing just yet).

Not only do I read Tawna’s blog, I bought Making Waves and blogged about it myself!

Also, tell your husband this story – I think he’ll ‘get’ it. My sons are teenagers. We sat them down and told them the economy is so bad, we were going to have to let one of them go. The oldest had ‘seniority’ and grinned happily but the youngest flipped out and said,”Hey! Why can’t you give him an incentive package to leave early!”

Love that our boys tease us right back.
